Patricia Mowry, M.Ed., LPC
Patricia Mowry, M.Ed., LPC is the owner and President of Turning Point – New Directions for Families, Inc. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, a Master's Degree in Education/Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. ![]()
Dana Myers, M.S.W., LCSW
Dana has been in the social work field for fourteen years. She specializes in counseling with adults, couples, and families, and has a great deal of expertise with substance abuse assessment, substance abuse psycho-educational/therapy groups, and crisis intervention. She has worked with various populations ranging from military members, disruptive children and teens, marital and couple's therapy, work-related stress, and individuals dealing with depression, anger, and trauma. ![]()
Laura Fuller, M.A.
Laura received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a double minor in Family and Child Development from Auburn University. She received a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. She has worked in the mental health field for over fifteen years and her experience includes providing services to adults, children and adolescents, and families. Some of her specialized training includes Play and Art Therapy, Parenting, Crisis Management, Domestic Violence, Managing Aggressive Behaviors, Individual and Group Therapy, and Substance Abuse. Laura has worked with at risk youth in the juvenile legal system and with battered women, and her passion is working with children and adolescents.
Melinda Kantor, M.A., LAPC
Melinda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and attained her Masters of Arts in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. She has received certification and training in Human Resources development. She received training at Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Philadelphia and received a certification of completion.
Connie Jones, M.A., LAPC
Connie received her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Georgia. ![]()
Suzanne Maiden, M.A., LPC
Suzanne Maiden holds a M.A., in Counseling from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, CA. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Suzanne’s clinical specialties include:

Hope Morgan, M. A.
Hope Morgan joined the Turning Point staff in September, 2009. She currently serves as a Family Therapist. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and received her M.A. in Community Counseling in August, 2010 from Argosy University.
La'Cuana Sims, M.A.
La'Cuana Sims obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Marriage and Family. La'Cuana went on to obtain a Masters Of Arts Degree in Community and Professional Counseling from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been working with the mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases since 1996 in which skill building techniques and therapy were provided to adults, children, and adolescents. La'Cuana currently provides psychotherapy with Turning Point in an outpatient setting. She also provides psychotherapy in a psychiatric hospital in Riverdale, Georgia. La'Cuana conducts group therapy, individual therapy, family and couples therapy, and parenting skills. La'Cuana's primary theoretical orientations are Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Adlerian therapy, but uses a variety of theoretical techniques depending on the individual's and family's needs.
Stacy N. Collins, MS, NCC, LPC
Stacy is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolsescents and adults in the areas of family violence, substance abuse and crisis intervention. She has been working as a counselor since 2002. Stacy is experienced in working with the Department of Family and Chidlren's Services as well as with the legal system. She works with families, adults and children ages 6-17 utilizing Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Psychotherapy.
Liza Moran-Fernandez, LCSW
Liza Moran-Fernandez has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 15 years working in healthcare and community mental helth settings as well as private practice . She is trained in the practice of psychotherapy and family systems. She uses interpersonal, cognitive behavioral therapeutic principles and brief family therapy techniques to help her clients.
Carrie White, LMSW
Carrie obtained a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University in 1999. She has worked in a myriad of public and private social service agencies to provide direct mental health services. Her past employment includes Dekalb County Department of Family and Children Services, Depaul-Tulane Behavioral Health Center and St. Jude's Recovery Center. She has been working with Turning Point, Inc. as a family therapist since 2004. She is a licensed master of social work in the State of Georgia.
Tammi Barnett, Office Manager
Tammi Barnett possesses a diverse background in the social services industry through 15 years of experience in delivery of program services and administrative services in both non-profit and for-profit corporations.
Demetrice Dickinson, Bookkeeper
Demetrice Dickinson has over 10 years of experience in corporate and social services finance. Prior to joining Turning Point, she worked at St. Christopher Ottilie - Family of Services where her responsibilities included forecasting & monitoring the budget of various state funded programs. Demetrice holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University.
Kimberly S. Jones, Referral Coordinator
Kimberly holds a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Health Sciences with concentration in Music Therapy from Georgia College & State University. Her previous experience and clinical studies have been with children and adults in patient psychiatry and mental health treatment. Kimberly has been serving clients in this community and surrounding services area for the past 10 years. Employed with Turning Point for the past 8 years, she works to coordinate the service needs for each client that we cross paths with. Kimberly also acts as the Family Support Specialist Team. Kimberly is due to complete her Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology this winter with research emphasis on the revolving door of substance abuse and program evaluation of drug court programs in our service area.
Tawaina Harris, Intern
Tawaina Harris joined the Turning Point staff as a Counseling intern in September 2010. She will complete her M.A. in Community Counseling in the fall of 2011 from Argosy University. Tawaina's area of clinical interest includes: Individual Counseling, Marriage & Family therapy, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Life Transitions, Substance Abuse, Groups, Adoption and Divorce. Tawaina enjoys working with adults, couples, and children. She uses the Humanistic approach integrated with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing in order to enhance motivation for positive change.
Kelli Shelton, Intern
Kelli Shelton joined the Turning Point staff as a counseling intern September 2010. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Georgia and will complete a M.A. in Community Counseling in Fall of 2010 from Argosy University. Kelli’s areas of clinical interest include: anxiety, depression, substance abuse, divorce related issues, grief, issues related to physical illness and couples counseling. Kelli enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults and couples. She uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Therapy in order to promote personal growth and psychological well-being.
